The BT In-Touch 2000 Retail package comprising: the BT In-Touch 2000 user phone, carer phone and radio pendant. The 'alarm' feature this phone package will help both those who need care, and those that provide care, maintain their independence in the knowledge that help will always be at hand when needed.
The Phones
Apart from the usual features you would expect of a new phone, both phones feature and LCD display and a flashing light with buzzer which activates upon emergency. The user phone can be programmed with 3 nominated carer emergency telephone numbers.
How It works
In the event of an emergency, the user simply presses the orange alarm button on either the radio pendant or the user phone itself to activate the call for help. The BT In-Touch 2000 user phone then seizes the line and takes control by sequentially dialling the programmed numbers in its memory until a carer receives the call.
Once connected, the BT In-Touch 2000 user phone plays its pre-recorded call for help message and switches to handsfree mode, this enabling easier communication.
Security
To ensure that a recognised carer received the call for help, the sequence will continue untill the 3 digit response code is entered by the carer or the user who presses and holds the cancel button. Therefore, a child or visitor cannot unwittingly halt the process.
The BT In-Touch 2000c carer phone will allow the carer to disconnect the user phone. By law no ordinary phone is able to do this. The BT In-Touch 2000 Retail Package has been granted the ability to do so in order that the carer may then be free to use their phone to raise the emergency service or make appropriate arrangements.
